A distinctive of the Anglican tradition is that we pray the Daily Prayer Offices—Morning & Evening Prayer, also called Matins and Evensong. Via the button below you will find the office for today's morning or evening according to the 1662 edition of the Book of Common Prayer. The options icon allows you to make some adjustments to the service according to your preferences, including modest language updates. We encourage our community to practice this structured daily prayer in their homes with their families, as we do together in any midweek services and Bible Studies.
Scripture reading is an core component of the daily offices. If you conduct the daily office every morning and evening every day of the year you will read:
76% of the Old Testament once per year.
96% of the New Testament thrice per year.
All of the Psalms once per month.
That's a pretty solid Bible reading plan! All the collects (corporate prayers) and canticles in the offices are also either directly lifted from Scripture or are combinations and paraphrases of Scripture.
